May 19: Little Bill and the Blue Notes Featuring Dick Powell

Little Bill and the Blue Notes have played for more Living Traditions and dances than any other band.  Bill and various lineups have been wowing dancers with their take on rhythm and blues. Expect great music to dance East and West Coast Swing, Blues, and some Latin.

Bill Englehart has opened for legendary acts such as BB King, Robert Lockwood Jr. and Buddy Guy.  The singer, songwriter and bass player has a roomful of awards including NW Hall of Fame, the W.C.  Handy Award and the BB Life Time Achievement Award. Joining him are of master guitarist Billy ‘Stapes’ Stapleton, the Hall of Fame inductee Dick Powell on harmonica and keyboard and the tight and steady multiple award winning Billy Barner on drums.

The pre-dance lesson at 7:30 will feature John Lozano. With over 15 years of teaching Lindy Hop & Blues, John Lozano has helped to shape dance scenes around the Midwest, West Coast, and Canada. His methodical approach to studying and teaching partnered movement packs the biggest punch with the lightest touch

Pre-dance lesson: 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with John Lozano

Dance: 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Cost: $15 general admission payable by cash or check at the door, $10 students under 23 with ID.

Location:  Leif Erikson Hall, 2245 N.W. 57th St. Seattle

Parking:  Through a cooperative relationship with Banner Bank, immediately east and next door to the Leif, free parking will be available at this dance in the Banner Bank lot. Parking is also available at the Ballard Health Club immediately south of the hall.
