En Canto is Seattles premiere forró band. Their shows are passionate and spirited journeys into the swirling rhythms of Brazil. The music is fueled by forró (which also refers to the dance) and is a combination of rhythms known as baião, xote and arrasapé. The sound is charged primarily by twin accordions and infiltrated with the jazz backgrounds of several of the musicians. Led by Brazilian born vocalist Adriana Giordano, En Canto was featured at the New York Forró festival in 2018 alongside Forró in the Dark, a widely known and popular New York-based collective (band) of Brazilian expatriates that formed in 2002. En Canto presents monthly forró events at Studio Current in Capitol Hill, and performs regularly at music and dance festivals around the U.S. and Canada.
