August 31: Seattle Houserockers

We are moving this dance on what most people consider the last weekend of summer to the Ballard Elks.  The Elks Lodge sits on the shores of Shilshole Bay overlooking the stunningly beautiful Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain Range. The dance floor  features a full wall of windows providing a panoramic vista of Shilshole Bay – The perfect place to share a potluck starting at 6pm.   the Pre-dance lesson at 7pm will be truly special with Walter Dill and Celina Dill  Then welcome the Seattle Houserockers.

From gut-wrenching blues to a get-down funky number, this band covers all the bases. Featuring  Dan Newton on guitar and keyboards, John Lee on bass, and Marty Lockwood on drums. All performers additionally contribute to vocals. Classic Rhythm and Blues, New Orleans Beat, swing, boogie and straight up blues are all served with feeling. After decades of performing and contributing to dozens of recordings, members of the Seattle Houserockers are journeyman professional musicians who have performed at festivals and in clubs all over the world.
