A Waltz Through Time
with Richard Powers & Angela Amarillas
Saturday & Sunday April 28th-29th 2012
All workshop events and evening dance at the
LEIF ERIKSON HALL 2245 NW 57th Street Seattle WA 98107
This year Richard is going to focus on a Contemporary Waltz step with Apache style moves throughout the weekend.
La Danse Apache (pronounced ah-PAHSH), or Valse Chaloupee, was a dramatic Parisian cabaret entertainment of the early 20th century (circa 1903) that remained a popular act for half a century.
Richard Powers, associate professor of dance at Stanford University, leading dance historian, choreographer, and teacher of American social dance for more than 25 years, and his long-time teaching partner Angela Amarillas, are excellent instructors! Local dancers have packed more than a dozen of their workshops here over the years. NW Dance is delighted to be able to bring them back to Seattle.
ALL THIS FOR ONE PRICE:
- Three 75-minute workshop sessions on Saturday and two on Sunday
- Pre-dance workshop (open to the public), 7:30 Saturday
