Northwest Dance Network is excited to be partnering with the Mercer Island Arts Council and the Mercer Island Department of Parks and Recreation to host dances at the Mercer Island VFW. Northwest Dance Network’s vision is to inspire the art, joy and excellence of non-competitive social dance. Part of their mission is to spread the enjoyment of social dance to more communities in the region.
Northwest Dance Network was incorporated at a 501 c 3 in 2004 to carry on the traditions of Living Traditions Dance. That tradition includes creating community where adults can learn and enjoy partner dance in a supportive environment.
As a non-profit Northwest Dance Network offer dances, classes, and workshops at various locations throughout the Puget Sound mostly in Northwest Seattle.
The clubhouse features a 1500 square foot hard wood dance floor and room for socializing. There is some parking at the VFW, with additional parking 2 blocks away on the lid over I-90.The November 24 dance will be held at the Historic Mercer Island Veterans of Foreign War’s Keewaydin Clubhouse. It was built in 1922 and has since been used as a community gathering place for residents of Mercer Island and surrounding communities.
