Not sure where to start? If you're new to dancing, we recommend starting with Swing 1, Waltz 1, Blues 1, or Salsa 1. Those classes are prerequisites for the next levels, which you can read about below. We want you to have clarity and confidence before moving on, and often encourage students to repeat a class if necessary. Some of our long-time dancers come back to take level 1 classes just for the fun of it.
Unless otherwise noted, all level 2 classes require competence with equivalent level 1 material.
Classes are beginning, intermediate, or advanced:
- Beginning Classes have no prerequisites
- Intermediate Classes have one or two prerequisites
- Advanced Classes require significant experience and prerequisites
NW Dance helps new dancers to any level feel comfortable and succeed. For more information see FAQ.
- No partner is necessary.
- Dancers may dance lead or follow as they prefer.
- Teaching assistants dance with the students and help the instructors give personal attention.

- February/March: 6 weeks
- April/May: 6 weeks
- September/October: 6 weeks
- November/December 6 weeks
Bring a Friend:
- Have you been dancing for awhile? Do you have a special friend who is new to dancing? Do you want to take dance lessons with your friend? If so we have a plan for you!
- Sign up for a class series (Waltz 1, Swing 1, Salsa 1 and/or Blues 1) with your friend and enjoy special pricing - $97.50 for one new person and one returning student.
- When you register please include in the special instructions box upon checkout the new person's name, phone number, and email address as well as the returning student's name
- Fine Print: Returning student must have taken the class at least once before. Not valid for two new students. Multiple discounts do not apply.
